Mr Adalberto Pironi attended the Faculty of Architecture in Milan. He also studied Industrial Design at "Scuola Politecnica di Design" where he had such great well- known academics, such as Mr Bruno Munari. From 1980 to 1990 he worked with The Sottsass Associati, an international studio in Milan. There he collaborated with Ettore Sottsass and designed various houses, shops, fair pavillons and shopping centres. Since 1990 he has had his own studio in Milan, where he deals with housing and interior design, shops, restaurants, offices and shopping centres. As far as the interior design field is concerned, he worked with such important companies as for instance Flexform and Alessi, for whose "Collection Tergi" he designed plenty of kitchen products. Some of these items were chosen by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which entered them into its catalogue. As to the industrial sector he collaborated with T&F Frugoli from Carrara. This leading company is listed among the most important producers for marble processing machines. Moreover Mr Pironi directed the project of industrial design concerning industrial machinery. From 1994 to 1996 he edited a survey on interior design in the Mondadori montly magazine "Grazia Casa". He cooperated with Bvlgari as general coordinator and was in charge of its quality checks. He also designed the realization of its points of sale in via della Spiga and in via Montenapoleone in Milan. In 1997 he won the competition organised by the film- making company Paramount USA in Los Angeles for the development of "Caffè italiano" concept. In 2006 he won the competition organised by Ferretti Group, a leading company with the shipping sector, for the project concerning the "Riva Caffè" concept: a coffee bar ispired by the all- time "Riva motorboats" trademark. In 2007 he developed the concept-store for the brand- new international watch trademark Toywatch. He also designed the first boutique in via Montenapoleone in Milan, then the points of sale in Istambul, Rome, Porto Cervo and London, let alone plenty of shops in the most important shopping centres all around the world. |
